A SCHEME to improve the quality of life for the sick and elderly in Redcar and Cleveland is hoping for Government funds.
The borough council's social services department has developed a scheme called Moving Towards Independence, backed by a partnership including Tees Health.
The scheme aims to help people stay independent for as long as possible by improving the availability and range of community-based support.
Assistant director of social services, Dave Appleton, said: "The aim is to maintain an individual's independence for as long as possible."
