A MAN who underwent heart surgery in South Cleveland Hospital has put his best foot forward to thank the staff who looked after him.

Peter Jones, of Stokesley, roped friends and relatives into completing a ten-mile walk to raise £600 for the South Cleveland Heart Fund.

Peter did the walk to encourage other heart patients to see life after surgery as a new start.

Staff nurse Francesca Thornley said: "We are very grateful to Peter for this donation, which we will use to benefit future patients.

"It gives us all a great deal of job satisfaction to see our patients fully recovered and and enjoying life to the full again."
