TYNE-TEES Television weatherman Bob Johnson is urging people to raise money for a cancer charity in this year's Great North Run.
Mr Johnson, who will be taking part in the Great North Walk, wants runners to tackle the half-marathon on October 22 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
People who chose to help the charity will be given a distinctive green vest, training advice and a fundraising pack.
