POLICE in Derwentside are appealing for help in tracing unusual items of property that have been stolen.
A heavy rubber sandwich sign, worth about £150, was taken from outside a shop in Medomsley Road, Consett, on the afternoon of Thursday, July 27.
Police believe it may have been taken by young skateboarders who could be using it as a ramp or jump.
Meanwhile, a 3ft tall plant in the shape of a kangaroo has gone missing from outside a shop in Front Street, Burnopfield.
It was held in a terracotta plant pot, and is valued at about £120.
It was stolen some time during the day last Thursday.
Finally, police want information on six Chinese rugs that were stolen from a shop in the Market Hall, Station Road, Stanley, last Wednesday.
The rugs, of different patterns and colours, are worth about £200 in total.
They were stolen while the shop assistant was being distracted.
