MOTORBIKE enthusiasts are invited to take part in the 29th Beamish Trophy trial next month.
The event is a popular feature in the motorbiking calendar, attracting more than 100 entrants. This year's trial will be held on Sunday, September 17, starting at the King's Head Hotel, Lanchester, County Durham, at 9am.
Entrants on motorcycles, cycle cars and tricycles will follow a route based on the Travers Trophy trial of the 1920s through Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria, before finishing back at the King's Head.
Prizes will be up for grabs in a host of categories for bikes manufactured in and before 1973.
Peter Robson, of organisers Durham Classic Motorcycle Club, said: "The idea of the event is to take in the local countryside and bring people from other parts of the country to see the area as well.
"We try to keep old motor- cycles in the public eye to show people take a great deal of patience and a lot of time in caring for them."
Entries will be accepted up to and on the morning of the event. For more information call 0191-371 0866
