PRIVATE investigators are going back to college on Wearside to brush up on their detective skills.
Ken Mason, a former detective sergeant with Northumbria police, is running two four-day seminars based on surveillance techniques.
The courses, in September and October, will be supported by Home Office-trained instructors.
They will look at surveillance from a vehicle and on foot, observation skills and use of technical equipment.
Mr Mason started his own detective agency in Sunderland after 32 years' service, including 26 years in CID.
He said: "Going into detective agency work was a natural progression for my experience and skills."
