MUSIC therapist Sara Morrow is hoping to bang the drum for adults with physical and learning disabilities.
Sara, who is from Darlington, is planning to use percussion instruments to try and develop communication skills among adults, with many of the group unable to speak.
The teacher at Northallerton College is appealing for any unwanted instruments, from a glockenspiel to maracas, from drums to chime bars.
She said: "To play, or try to play, an instrument is one of the few ways they can express themselves or feel part of a group.
"More importantly, it helps to develop their communication skills, which is what I am trying to do.
"But to carry this work forward we need more instruments and they can be expensive."
Anyone with a xylophone in their attic or a tambourine in their garage that they could donate to the initiative can either contact Sara Morrow on (01325) 363972 or Sandra McDougal, at Nortallerton College, on (01609) 773340, extension 223.
