There's no stopping Cleveland Angling Centre B, as they have wrapped up the Yarm summer league by registering five straight wins and will be looking for a perfect six in tomorrow's final round on the lower Tees, writes JEFF HERBERT.

Individually it was Darlington AC B's Andy Dargue who bagged 9-4-0. Maggot and caster on the pole at nine metres attracted four chub around the 2lb mark supplemented by small roach below the gas pipe at Wards Lane.

Runner-up John Youll, on Fisheries Bend below Yarm Bridge, feeder maggot across for a mixed small fish return of 6-8-0.

Teams on the day: 1 CAC B 33, joint second CAC A, Darlington AC B 32 points.

League: 1 CAC B 50 points, joint second place CAC A and Darlington AC A 36, joint fourth MNS A and Yarm Flynns 32.

Darlington's Maurice Mudd made it two big Tees wins in successive Sundays securing Thornably AA's Stockwell Cup between Croft and Hurworth recording 12-13-0.

Pegged on the Groynes run off waggler to farside cover located four good chub backed by bits alternating caster, maggot corn and meat on the hook.

Veteran Ray Corner of Billingham fished a good match clinching second spot. Sat above the railway bridge, five chub totalling 11-12-0 responding to bomb and meat.

Other results: Cyril Close, Shildon 10-8-0; Mick Watson, Darlington 9-10-0.

RSPS regular Kevin Weighell led a disappointing turnout of just 26 during Northallerton's John Grainger Trophy on the Swale around Scruton.

Competitors may have been in short supply but the chub were keen to feed and Kevin stick floated bomb and caster picking up 14 specimens for a creditable 29-2-0 below the Horseshoe bend.

Gareth Smith of Northallerton followed with a level 20lb of chub to float fish caster between the railway and Morton Bridges from Tommy Earle Darlington 9-12-0.

A draw on shallow water proved crucial in the Middlesbrough AC Anglers Choice Rosebowl on the Middle Swale. However, anglers on fish suffered predator problems with one unlucky competitor about to net a 4lbs chub only to see a huge pike smash it in half.

Aireborough Nick Smith on Ainderby Rapids stick-floated caster netting a comfortable 25-15-0. Good chub and lots of chublets held on reigning upper Swale champion Ray King. Ray on Allerthorpe Shadows enjoyed a late match burst delivering eight chub to waggler and caster for 5-12-0.

Others results: Peter Moller of Marsh Tackle and Don McAlister of Doncaster tying on 14-14-0 from Dennis Geldart of Leeds 11-4-0.

Venue expert and Elton Tackle dealer, Barry Gregory left everybody else fishing for second place notching up a convincing 47-12-0 during Saturday's Woodlands Open.

Tackling corner peg 18 on Skylark, Barry worked short at five metres. Tiny pieces of meat and worm brought plenty of small carp and tench on the feed from Dave Pimlott 34-14-0.

Match round-up: Woodland Lakes Wednesday Open Partridge and Skylark: 1 D Thompson, Ripon, 47-6-0, mainly carp to pole paste and meat off Skylark 12. 2 K Kotchie, Map Elton, 45-5-0; 3 R Judson, KL Tackle, 43-12-0.

Ure/Swale. Ouse Challenge Round Two, River Ouse: J Cosgrove of Helperby 3-10-0 from M Thompson of Newton 3-7-0.

Jubilee Lakes Redworth Telephone (01388) 772611. Fishing very well at present, water crystal clear, no problem with weed. Big specimens up to 19.2.0. Pheasant tails and damsels most successful patterns.
