GIANT "Slinky dogs" entertained visitors to Darlington Market Square yesterday afternoon.
The characters, brought to life by entertainers Bedlam Oz, are part of the town's summer midweek entertainment, which features singers, dancers and street theatre.
A spokesman for Darlington Borough Council, which organises the entertainment, said: "The market place is the ideal place for this. It's the fourth year that we have had a summer market place midweek entertainment programme.
"It has proved very popular with visitors to the town, with shoppers and workers who take their lunch in the market place on sunny summer afternoons.
