A NORTH-EAST motorist hit the jackpot when he entered a free competition organised by the Welsh Tourist Board.
Ian Willey, of Yarm, on Teesside, was entered into the contest to win a Ford Cougar 2L when he phoned the Welsh Tourist Board to request some holiday brochures.
Ian, who has never won anything in his life, was revealed as the lucky winner of the car and he went to Jennings Ford, in Stockton, to pick up his prize.
He said: "I couldn't believe my luck when I was told I had won. I often enter competitions but I never believed Joe Public could win anything.
"I am delighted with the Cougar - it's a real dream car.
