Residents in the Quayside area of Newcastle have urged the city council to get tough on drunken hooligans who make people's lives a misery after visiting its popular bars and nightclubs.
The plea was made at a meeting to discuss the joint bid by Newcastle and Gateshead to become European Capital of Culture.
