YOUNGSTERS have won £2,000 to decorate a subway.
Members of the Linx youth work project, at The Viewley Centre, Hemlington, Middlesbrough, were awarded the sum by Hemlington Community Council.
They impressed officials with their plan to improve the subway, and have been working with a local professional artist to develop ideas.
The result is a plan for a painting reflecting images of the area. Work started today, and the artwork is due to be unveiled on Friday.
