A WOMAN from the North-East is still awaiting trial in Spain on drugs charges, the Foreign Office has confirmed. Claire Brown, 26, formerly of Thorney Close, Sunderland, who is being held in jail, was arrested at Barcelona airport in November last year. She was accused of carrying 10kg of cocaine, worth in excess of £400,000, in her luggage.
