PEOPLE caught on CCTV cameras could hold vital information on the murder of a prostitute.

Images were yesterday released by detectives investigating the death of Vicky Glass, and a couple on them were last night urged to come forward in the latest appeal for witnesses.

They were recorded in the area near Middlesbrough's Shipmate pub, where the 21-year-old was last seen being dropped off by a taxi, on September 24.

In the weeks following the discovery of the Middlesbrough vice girl's body on the North York Moors, near the village of Danby, on November 3, detectives have trawled through more than 70 hours of CCTV footage from cameras in the town centre.

One of the images recorded at around the time of Vicky's disappearance is of a couple, apparently arguing, in the doorway of the It's a Scream pub on the corner of Linthorpe Road and Borough Road.

A clear picture shows a young, dark-haired man wearing a baseball cap, striped t-shirt and Adidas tracksuit bottoms, and holding plastic carrier bags in both hands.

His companion is a dark- haired woman with a ponytail, wearing a three-quarter length, dark jacket and light trousers.

The man is shown heading off towards Borough Road, dropping some items from his bags, while the woman makes her way towards the Shipmate pub.

Pictures from just before the scene show a separate couple on the corner of Hartington Road and Newport Road.

The woman is wearing a jacket with light-coloured sleeves and is pulling a suitcase.

Detective Superintendent Brian Dunn, who is leading the inquiry, last night admitted that he was no nearer to discovering how or where Vicky was killed.

He urged anyone who was in the area between 3am and 6am on September 24 to get in touch, even if they don't believe they can be of assistance.
