DRUNKEN Charlene Bell rampaged around a holiday jet before cornering a male member of the crew and demanding: "give us a snog".

The jobless 20-year-old downed drink after drink to calm her nerves as she waited to board the flight to Cyprus, a court heard,

But by the time she got on the plane from Newcastle to Larnaca, she was out of control.

Newcastle Magistrates were told Bell refused to stay in her seat, tugged at a stewardess's skirt and swore as she demanded a cup of tea.

The drunken antics continued as she started abusing a passenger sitting near her and staggered up to a crew member and demanded a kiss. Even after she was given a formal warning, Bell lit up a cigarette in a toilet.

Mark Saunders, mitigating, said: "She had only flown once before and is terrified of flying.

Mr Saunders added: "She was argumentative, she was being abusive but that is as far as it goes, no other passengers were inconvenienced or at risk."

Bell, of Park Avenue, Whitley Bay, was fined £500 and given a 150-hour community service order. She admitted being drunk on an aircraft, smoking on a non-smoking flight and using threatening behaviour towards a crew member
