THE Darlington branch of a chain of bookmakers has hit the jackpot by scooping a national award.
Stanley Racing, in Cockerton, beat 620 Stanley shops across the country to win the company's prize of shop team of the year.
Staff at the bookmakers won gift vouchers, trips to Haydock and Sedgefield races, and a trophy which they can keep for a year.
Shop manager Paul Cowe said: "We are delighted to receive this award because it recognises the efforts that are made by everyone here."
