B & H Kings Head maintained their three point lead at the top of the league table with a 5-2 win over Tanfield Bros.

In a lively opening, Michael Jones put King's Head in front on five minutes firing home from the edge of the area only for Tanfield to hit back with an equaliser minutes later.

Brian Crawley opened his account shortly before half time to give King's Head the interval lead and it was Crawley who put his side in the driving seat scoring with a diving header after good work from Paul Dowson.

A minute into the second half, Boosbeck reduced the arrears when Paul Round headed home Paul Thomas's cross from six yards out and with 20 minutes remaining, Round found the back of the net for a second time.

Leonard then set up Lee Thompson who outpaced the defence before lobbing the keeper for number three and it was Thompson who scored into an empty net after his earlier shot had been parried.

Acklam took a second-minute lead through Charlie Agiadis with, surprisingly, only his fourth of the season as last season he was the league's top scorer with 33. Just before half-time Alan Oliver added a second from the penalty spot. Straight from the kick-off, Dave Thomas seemed to have clinched the points for Acklam when he fired home from 40 yards to make it 3-0.

But Hollybush showed their fighting spirit and Nicky Ward pulled one back on the hour and five minutes later Ian Kirkbright added a second before Gary Smithies completed the recovery ten minutes from time.

In the second half the visitors were again the better side and tried to find a way back into the match but it was Bedale who had the better finishers, Michael Robinson scoring a fourth.

With ten minutes remaining worst was to follow for Whitby when their keeper brought down Mavin just outside penalty box and was sent off. Robinson scored direct from the free-kick.

Wolviston surprised the leaders with a 16th-minute goal when Ian Thomson's shot was saved by Fleet keeper Lee Harris, only for Andrew Dyson, making his debut, having the easiest of chances, tapping in the opener. The home side their tail up and in the 25th minute Thompson shot over the bar five minutes later Fleet nearly equalised when Paul Jewitt went close and two minutes before half time Wolviston went close to a two-goal lead when a header hit the bar and bounced down, home players claiming it was over the line but the referee waved away their protests. Dyson added his second of the match 12 minutes into the second-half when he beat the offside trap and ran on to round the keeper. Fleet fought back and cut the deficit through Michael Crowe in the 70th minute and three minutes later they levelled through Paul Edwards.

Guisborough Town Reserves crashed out of the North Riding County Cup, beaten 3-0 by Scarborough side Edgehill Mere who completely out played the visitors and were well worth their second round win. The other teams are; Bishopthorpe Utd, Edgehill Mere, Kirkbymoorside, Nestle Rowntrees, Stokesley SC (WL)
