A BUDDING North-East entrepreneur who is selling his much-in-demand Playstation2 is switching the sale to London.

The Northern Echo told yesterday how the man from Middlesbrough, who wants only to be known as Paul, became the first in the region to advertise his console, attracting bids of up to £600.

That figure has since gone up to £800, but, not content with that, Paul is now advertising the £300 games machine in the capital.

He said: "I spoke to someone in London and the prices are much higher there, going up to £1,500."

Only 165,000 Playstation2s, Sony's most high-tech games console, were delivered to Britain and all were pre-ordered.

The massive demand has led to a black market in second-hand sales, with reports of bids of up £2,000.
