A NORTH-EAST boxing bill in aid of charity is proving a knock-out success with punters.
The National Association of Clubs for Young People, Class A Championship Finals, takes place on Friday at the Peterlee Leisure Centre, County Durham.
It is already a sell-out, with 800 tickets sold. Guests at the show are expected to include Minister of Sport Kate Hoey, and Lord Mackenzie of Framwellgate.
Ten bouts of three two-minute rounds are scheduled, with competitors being drawn from all over the United Kingdom. Doors open at 7pm.
The youngsters taking part will be staying in overnight accommodation provided by Durham University.
Charities to benefit from the boxing are the National Association of Clubs for Young People, Hartlepool and District Hospice, Mencap, MS Relief and St John Ambulance.
