BOBBY ROBSON'S problems at Newcastle piled up last night when left-back Didier Domi launched an attack on the United manager and flashed a "come and get me'' message to former club Paris St. Germain.

Almost two years since Ruud Gullit lured him from the French capital in a £3.5m deal, Domi is eyeing a return home.

New PSG coach Luis Fernandez is anxious to strengthen his squad and has pinpointed the left-back position for urgent attention.

Veteran Jimmy Algerino has been left out of the side since Fernandez took charge and French Under-21 international Domi is seen as a natural long-term replacement.

And Domi, who has repeatedly failed to nail speculation about his future, began to pave the way for his exit last night as he blamed Robson's training methods as one of the reasons for his indifferent form this season.

In the wake of Saturday's 5-0 drubbing at Arsenal, where he came on as a second-half substitute, Domi also wrote off United's chances of making an impact in the Premiership this season and spoke of his annoyance over their inconsistency.

The outburst is the last thing Robson wants to hear as he contends with a crippling injury list which includes skipper Alan Shearer, who may be forced to undergo surgery for tendinitis in a knee and miss the rest of the season, if a third steroid injection fails to cure the problem.

But Domi, omitted from Robson's starting line-up in the last three matches, has left the United boss in no doubt that he is desperate to rejoin PSG.

Domi admitted: "If Paris St. Germain want me, it's clear I'll go. Fernandez's arrival is really a good thing for the club.

"He's like Raymond Domenech (the French Under-21 coach) or Ruud Gullit. They are people who make you want to fight.

"They make you love working. PSG have a young team and Luis will bring the best out of everybody.

"For the moment, I do not know what is happening.

"It will be necessary to request from Luis what he intends to do. But I like Paris, I am a Parisian, so we will see.''

Domi's preferred position is left-back, but Robson has often pushed him into a wide midfield role.

"I have been playing far below my potential,'' conceded Domi.

"We don't do much training here and that's not what I need. I've still got a long way to go before I reach my best here.

"At the moment, I'm a Newcastle player but I may move.

"Everything is possible as I had offers from Liverpool and Valencia last summer. If I get an interesting proposition, I would be ready to go.

"Our inconsistency this season has been really annoying - beating Liverpool and Ipswich and then getting thrashed by Arsenal - so it's clear we have no chance in the league.

"However, I'm hoping for a good FA Cup run because we've done well in that in the past."

Whether Domi would figure in such a run remains to be seen, but with three defenders sidelined, Robson is unlikely to let him leave in a hurry.
