CHILDREN showed their signing as well as their singing skills yesterday. A choir from Beverley School for deaf and autistic children, on Teesside - some of whom are pictured above - provided Christmas cheer for staff and visitors when they performed in the reception area of Middlesbrough House council offices. The group of 23, aged from four to eight - including five-year-old Matthew Blade, above centre - sang and signed their favourite festive tunes, accompanied by the Mayor of Middlesbrough, Councillor Kath Bevington, and council staff from social and housing services and finance, who have learned sign language to help deaf and hard of hearing clients. Afterwards, staff from Middlesbrough House gave presents to the children and a raffle was held in aid of the school. Picture: MIKE GIB
