A TEENAGE motorcyclist and his passenger suffered broken bones when their off-road bike, being ridden without lights, collided with a car.
The accident happened at 9.55pm, on Friday, when the unregistered Suzuki 125cc hit the Suzuki Baleno in North Road East, Wingate, County Durham.
The 14-year-old rider suffered head injuries and broken legs, while the 23-year-old male passenger sustained a broken leg and cuts. Neither was wearing crash helmets.
Both the youth and the man, from Trimdon Station, were detained in Hartlepool General Hospital.
The car driver, a 47-year-old woman from Wingate, was uninjured .
