Spennymoor League

The league has been revived and will operate for the new season with 18 teams under secretary, Steve Roy of the Half Moon, Low Spennymoor. Matches will be played on Thursday evenings, using the old rules.

Bishop Auckland League

Bishop Auckland Football Club hosted the quarter finals of the league doubles championships.

Results: Paul Willey and Michael Hoggart (Bishop Auckland Derby) beat Dave Leighton and Richard Walker (Crook Olde Horse Shoe) 2-1; Gavin Witton and Stephen Hunter (Crook Olde Horse Shoe) beat Steve Wray and Steve Hunter (Spennymoor Ashtree) 2-1; Chris Peacock and Chris Bowran (Bishop Auckland Derby) beat Harry Baillie and Tony Biddle (Spennymoor Ashtree) 2-0; John Mason and Cliff Owens (Crook Olde Horse Shoe) beat Tony Lambert and Craig Lumley (Bishop Auckland Football Club).

The semi-finalists in the singles championship are Chris Bowran (Bishop Auckland Derby), Warren Stamp (Bishop Auckland King's Head), Gavin Witton (Crook Olde Horse Shoe) and Alan Jones (Spennymoor Ashtree).

The league's annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 23 at 8pm in Bishop Auckland King's Head. There are vacancies for new teams in the league, which plays on Thursday evenings. All former teams wishing to re-enter and any new teams interested in joining must be represented at this meeting.
