A WOMAN was wrestled to the ground and robbed as she walked through a churchyard.
The victim was heading home through St Stephen's churchyard, Lawe Top, South Shields, when she was grabbed from behind by a man who stole her handbag.
The attacker was described as aged 19 to 25. He wore a black bomber jacket, dark trousers, black shoes and brown woollen gloves.
The robbery happened between 5.10pm and 5.20pm last Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call South Shields CID on 0191-454 7555
