DARLINGTON Borough Council has tried to allay residents' fears over a new playground at the Harrowgate Farm housing development.
Some residents objected to the playground claiming it was too near to an overhead pylon.
The playground was included in plans for the estate.
Council spokesman Steve Jones said residents had been written to, and the majority supported the playground.
He said: "As for the pylon, there is no evidence to suggest a health risk for children."
