FORENSIC scientists are investigating a suspicious fire which caused extensive damage to a city centre furniture showroom.
Collard and Collard, in Gallowgate, Newcastle, appears to have been set on fire by an arsonist early on Monday morning.
Police were called to the premises by the alarm sounding off at 12.50am. It is thought that the blaze was started using a flammable substance.
