RELATIONSHIPS between parents and children improve as a result of going to boarding school, a new survey reveals.

A national survey of more than 1,000 boarding school parents, including people from the North-East, has been carried out to enhance awareness of modern boarding.

Almost every parent asked said relationships with their children had either improved or been unaffected due to their boarding education.

The survey showed that boarding was a positive choice for most families, with 72 per cent of parents saying the boarding element had been either very important or desirable in their choice of school
