A MOTHER-of-three was behind bars last night after letting an Internet chatroom user seduce her schoolgirl babysitter after he and his friend travelled hundreds of miles to visit her home.

Married father-of-three Andrew Mandefield and a friend travelled from Hastings to 32-year-old Angela Sisson's home on Tyneside after they had met her and the 15-year-old girl over the Internet, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

Sisson, of Whickham Gardens, Byker, Newcastle, admitted a single charge of allowing premises to be used for unlawful sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 16.

Mr Justice Henriques adjourned sentencing until April 10 and remanded her in custody, saying a prison sentence would be inevitable.

Mandefield was jailed for nine months and placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for ten years after he admitted two charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16 and one charge of indecent assault.

The court heard how Mandefield, 30, of Cotswold Close, Hastings, East Sussex, travelled to the north-east with another man who had been chatting to Sisson over the Internet.

She picked them up from a coach station and took them back to her home, where the teenager often used to babysit for her children.

The court heard that Mandefield and the girl began kissing on the sofa before going into a bedroom and that a similar thing happened the next day, with Sisson doing nothing to prevent it.

Mandefield was arrested after the girl told her family what happened and he immediately admitted to police he had sex with her.

After the verdict, the victim's mother said: "I am horrified to think these strangers who they met on the Internet have come to Newcastle for sex and one of them has done this to my daughter.
