Middlesbrough Borough Council is seeking nominations for its citizen of the year competition.
The only rule for nominees is that they must live in the town.
Their contribution to its life might be through work in the public or private sector, voluntary work, or some cultural, academic or sporting achievement.
To make a nomination, residents can fill in the form in the latest edition of the Middlesbrough publication, or e-mail their suggestion to bev_wood house
