A NORTH-EAST nature reserve is to reopen tomorrow, following a Government announcement that parts of the countryside can be made more accessible to the public.

Washington's Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust centre manager Chris Francis said: "Our thoughts are, of course, with all the farmers at this time.

"The effects on the tourism industry have also been well reported, and as a charity it is a relief to be able to open to visitors once more."
