DETERMINATION and drive has won LYNN PERRY a role in the bus division of transport services group Arriva.

She is the new human resources manager for Arriva Northumbria and Arriva North-East, based in Sunderland.

She will be responsible for meeting the training, employment and development needs of nearly 2,000 employees.

Lynn, 27, has spent her career developing her personnel and human resources skills, studying for her Chartered Institute for Personal Development qualification at the University of Sunderland, while working full time in personnel and human resources departments of Reg Vardy plc, SCS plc and Silent Night Furniture.

Lynn is married and lives in Washington.

* An Easter recruitment campaign for Newcastle College has been developed by new marketing director SIMON HIGGINS. The 33-year-old joined Newcastle after more than two years as marketing manager at Bishop Auckland College, having previously worked in Dewsbury and Sheffield.

* Advertising agency Yellow M has appointed SCOTT HALDANE to the post of commercial director. Scott, 41, joins Yellow M from the NHS, where he was director of finance for one of the UK's largest health authorities.

A chartered accountant, he previously spent ten years in the private sector, working in the service sector.

* Polam Hall Independent School for Girls, in Darlington, has appointed WILMA CAMPBELL as the new deputy head of the Junior School.

Mrs Campbell, originally from Northern Ireland, began her teaching career in Ballyclare Secondary Modern School as head of PE.

She came to Darlington in 1987 and joined the staff at Polam Hall School in 1988 as a PE teacher in the Senior School, subsequently becoming head of PE. She moved to the Junior School in 1998.

* Newcastle's Grainger Town Project has a new Heritage Officer. She is FIONA LIGHTFOOT, 31, from Carlisle. She was formerly a conservation officer for Gateshead Council. She has an MSc in European Urban Conservation and recently achieved a Post-Graduate Diploma in Planning.

* Network solution provider KBR, based in Birtley, County Durham, has appointed CARL GARDEN as account manager.

The 34-year-old has 14 years of sales experience, and joins the firm from Eze Office.com, where he was business development manager.

* PAUL AMUNDSEN, 46, has rejoined Priory Cars (BMW) at the Silverlink, Wallsend, after leaving the dealership ten years ago to pursue other motoring interests. A relative of Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen, Paul has returned as Priory's used car buyer.

ADRIAN JOHNSON, SARAH GIANGREGORIO and ANDY BARKER have all been recruited to the position of account director at Lynx Public Relations.
