A TENNIS coach, who counts Sean Connery and Sting among his former pupils, is planning a comprehensive teaching programme for people of all ages and abilities in Newton Aycliffe.
Ian Wilkinson, a teacher at Greenfield Community and Arts College, will launch the first courses at the end of the month.
Mr Wilkinson, from Shildon, has nearly 30 years experience of coaching players from beginners to professionals.
He started coaching in Shildon and progressed to becoming a coach at the Bjorn Borg Tennis School in Marbella, Spain. From there he moved on to become a trainer at the Harry Hopmans Training Camp in Florida. More recently he was head coach at Shotley and Benfieldside Tennis Club.
Courses for under-nines, under-11s, under-16s and adults will be running from April 30, with more to follow.
