WETHERBY stages an additional meeting today after the British Horseracing Board granted the fixture in light of meetings abandoned due to both the foot-and-mouth crisis and inclement weather.

The seven-race programme is scheduled to start at 2.25, with the feature race being the Wetherby Racecourse Weddings Handicap Chase over the extended two and a half miles.

Special arrangements will be in place in compliance with the foot-and-mouth disease instructions and guidelines for the racing industry issued by the Jockey Club and BHB in conjunction with MAFF.

Racegoers are requested to arrive earlier than usual and wear stout shoes as they will have to walk on special mats soaked in disinfectant prior to entry into all enclosures.

Action from the Grand National meeting at Aintree will be shown on the closed-circuit televisions in all enclosures
