After last week's blank the League were back in action with a full programme and some very closely contested fixtures.

At Hurworth, Darren Wray shot the Otter & Fish into an early lead but by half-time Wayne Claydon had struck twice for visitors Shildon Three Tuns. Twenty minutes into the second period Claydon completed his hat-trick and this served to wake Otter up. Wayne King reduced the arrears after a solo run, then a late double substitution proved fruitful as goals from Neil Bell and Simon Middlemiss earned Otter a 4-3 win.

Aycliffe Saints were made to work hard for the points against Wesley's before coming out 3-1 victors. John Leet opened the scoring for Wesley's with Saints equalising just before the break. Jonathan Hall, Trevor Marsden and Dave Morgan scored for Saints while Wesley's keeper Paul Saxton once again was outstanding. A hat-trick from Gavin Bell helped Busters to a 5-1 win over RA Youth although the scoreline belies the overall play. Rodney Brown and Jonathan Robson were Busters' other scorers while Darren Kokes hit Youth's consolation. Turbinia were another side to record a 5-1 win as they got the better of AFC Tap & Spile. Gary Fawcett hit a double with one apiece going to Paul Blackett, Adam Simpson and Andy Ryder. Shaun Campbell was on target for Tap. Model T threw a two goal lead away as they went down 3-2 to Wheatsheaf Wanderers. Richard Dodsworth struck either side of the interval for Model T who were then caught by the Chilton side who scored through Craig Chapman, John Daniels and Jody Slee.

After an evenly contested first half which ended 1-1, the ten men of Sedgefield Athletic finally came out on top against DGSOB 3-2. The Brassell brothers were again involved in the scoring for Sedgefield with one each for Dave and Scott, Arron Robson secured the points with an individual effort to score their third, for Old Boys, Mattie Frietag was on hand to grab both.

A Paul Weir lob and a Wayne Franklin strike from the edge of the box was enough to give The Royal a 2-0 win against the improved SCA side.

At Barnard Castle a cheeky back heel in the last minute by Trenton Hewitt gave Deepdale a 4-3 win over Hydro. It was Hewitt who took two chances in the first half hour to put Deepdale ahead, Neville Richardson reduced the arrears just before the break and in the second Richardson and Chris Walker punished Deepdale for two bad clearances to put Hydro ahead. In the last five minutes Hewitt was there again to volley home from 18 yards and finished with the cheeky strike.

In midweek there were wins for Busters, Hydro, Model T, Otter & Fish and Turbinia while SCA and DGSOB drew.
