A GRIMSBY lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Teesside prostitute Vicky Glass whose naked body was found dumped on moorland.

The 39-year-old married man was questioned for 14 hours on Wednesday after Cleveland detectives travelled to the Humberside town.

He was eventually released on bail, and inquiries were continuing last night.

The arrest follows a massive hunt for the 21-year-old vice girl's killer after her remains were discovered at a remote spot near the village of Danby, North Yorkshire, last November.

The heroin addict had disappeared from outside the Shipmate pub, in Middlesbrough, six weeks earlier.

Police appealed to other prostitutes and clients to come forward with information, but were frustrated by the wall of silence that greeted them.

Officers were left to trawl through more than 70 hours of CCTV footage and at one stage threatened to call on anyone who did not come forward voluntarily.

Last month, they widened the net to include lorry drivers, many of whom use the overnight lorry park in the red light area of Cannon Park.

Last night, a spokesman for Cleveland Police stressed investigations were still ongoing.

He said: "Police are still appealing for anyone with information to contact them on (01642) 301283 or 0800 555 111."

Items of clothing removed from Ms Glass' body are yet to be found.
