The Lion Brewery is the only W&DB operation currently running at full capacity, brewing Kronenbourg 1664, Heineken and Harp Irish lager. It brews about 450,000 barrels a year.
Whatever the outcome of the bids, brewing analysts at stockbroker Brewin Dolphin believe that the Lion Brewery will survive, as the site does not lend itself to use for housing or a supermarket.
