CRIMINALS are being warned there is nowhere for them to hide following the installation of security cameras.
This week sees the completion of the latest phase of the CCTV system for Newcastle East Area Command.
Nine cameras have been installed in South Heaton and Jesmond, at a cost of £180,000.
There are now 15 strategically placed cameras in Newcastle East.
Although the system was officially unveiled yesterday, the cameras have already proved useful.
In the past few weeks they have helped officers catch five people for a various offences.
