Hathaway and Cope Stokesley League - Redcar Coke Ovens applied the early pressure with good link-up play between the midfield and attack.

Star striker Anthony Greggory twice found himself behind the Onyx defence to have shots on goal. The link-up play paid off in the ninth minute when Lee Stevenson fed the ball through and a well-timed run by Greggory allowed him to calmly slot the ball home.

Coke Oven increased their lead on 50 minutes, Greggory again involved, this time making a well-timed run to get behind the Onyx defence and made a key pass to oncoming forward Terry Strange.

At 2-0 down Onyx got back into the game and John Symon took the ball into the 18-yard area dribbling and had the ball in the net, however, the goal did not count, the referee awarding a penalty for a foul on Symon who took the spot-kick only to bring a fine save from Coke Ovens keeper Gary Naylor.

Onyx showed good character following the penalty save and were awarded a second penalty and this time Andrew scored with a well-driven shot.

Onyx continued to apply the pressure but resolute defending by Coke Ovens allowed them to hold out and win the trophy.

Dormans took the first step in their bid for a league treble by defeating B and H King's Head 2-1 in the Arthur Reed Memorial Shield final at Guisborough Town, the game sponsored by Leven Bridge Engineering.
