A MAN has been charged with assault following a street fight in which a Kurdish refugee had his face slashed.
The attack happened at around 2.30am on Friday, when witnesses report having seen two Iraqis fighting with two white men at Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough.
The victim, who cannot speak English, was found collapsed and bleeding in the town centre.
He was taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital, where he is still being treated for facial injuries.
The arrested man will appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court today (mon). Any witnesses are asked to contact DC Peter Husband on (01642) 303126.
