AN open day at a leisure centre will allow visitors to try out a range of activities and an innovative relaxation room.
Durham City Council's Deerness Leisure Centre is the only one in the region to offer the Sensations Room.
It uses lights, sounds and textures to soothe and relax, while stimulating the mind through its use of colours, music, waterbeds and projected images.
Paul Lysaght, manager, said: "We are delighted at the growing numbers of people who use Sensations to manage stress or simply chill out at the end of a busy week."
The centre will hold an open day on Saturday, from 10am to 6pm, and there will be prize draws and discount vouchers for people booking induction sessions.
A sauna has been installed, making facilities at Deerness the most modern in the region.
