A PIPE band is to stage town centre performances to raise money to pay for the hire of practice facilities.
Teesdale Pipes and Drums have had to cancel several engagements this year because of the foot-and-mouth crisis.
The band, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, will be performing outside the Newgate Centre, Bishop Auckland, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday.
The following Saturday, May 26, the band will be playing in Barnard Castle between the same times.
The band is seeking new members of all ages.
Practice sessions are held at the Masonic Hall, Staindrop, on Wednesdays, from 7pm to 10pm, and on Sundays, from 2pm to 5pm. Membership is £1 a week and instruments can be borrowed without charge.
