POLICE are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl in a city centre.
The 18-year-old victim was grabbed in Cowan Terrace, Sunderland, at midnight on Sunday, and dragged into the civic centre car park.
The victim was "extremely traumatised" by her ordeal.
Police are checking CCTV camera film of the car park and are urging businesses in the area who have their own CCTV systems to check if they may have filmed the incident.
Witnesses seen near the car park and the driver of a white London-style taxi are also being asked to come forward.
The attacker is said to be white, aged 20 to 30, 5ft 8in and thin. He spoke with broken English and had fair or brown hair, and was wearing washed-out jeans and a black T-shirt.
Anyone with information should call Sunderland CID on 0191-454 7555, extension 66158.
