A father-of-four today appeared in court charged with causing the deaths of 10 people in the Selby rail disaster.
Gary Hart, 36, of Strubby, Lincs, was driving a Land Rover which left the M62 motorway and plunged on to the East Coast rail line in February.
Six passengers and four railway staff were killed when an express train was derailed and then collided with an oncoming freight train.
Hart faced 10 charges of causing death by dangerous driving when he appeared before magistrates in Selby, North Yorks.
He spoke only to confirm his name, age and address and was bailed to appear at York Crown Court at a later date.
