A MAN has admitted indecently assaulting a young mother who said she woke up in her home to find him attacking her.

Terence Clark, 41, was accused of raping the woman after turning up at her house looking for a party in the early hours of October 11, 1999.

He was tried for rape in March, but the jury failed to reach a verdict in the case.

He was due to be tried again at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday, but the Crown Prosecution Service accepted his guilty plea to indecent assault on the basis of none consensual oral sex.

The woman, who cannot be named, said Clark was attacking her when she woke up on her sofa after a night out with her boyfriend.

He had gone round to the woman's home after being escorted from his girlfriend's house by the police following a row, despite barely knowing her.

Clark, of Hendon Valley Court, Hendon, Sunderland, will be sentenced on June 8 after the preparation of reports.
