THE Mayor of Gateshead has raised more than £7,000 for charity during his year in office.
Councillor Pitch Wilson supported a number of charities, including St Mark's Deaf Club, the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Royal British Legion.
He handed over cheques to the organisations before standing down as mayor.
Coun Pitch was involved in several fundraising events, including a 30-mile sponsored cycle ride.
