Darlington RA have won the Darlington Charity Cup, sponsored by Darlington Building Society, after defeating Hartlepool Arriva Express 4-1 at Feethams.
They faced strong opposition in the first half from a physical Hartlepool team and, despite taking an early lead, were unable to add to their lead before half-time.
In the second half, RA were given a shock when Hartlepool equalised, but in the end the quality of the RA team shone through and they added a further three goals to win the cup.
Under the terms of the competition, Darlington RA will now choose a local charity to benefit from a donation of £500 raised by the Charity Cup committee.
