SUNDERLAND Football In The Community is a non-profit-making organisation which aims to encourage children to play more sport.

Staff from the project visited our school last term, spending at least half an hour with each year group from nursery onwards, giving some football coaching.

At the end of visit, the organisation arranged a sponsored penalty shoot-out for all the children in the school.

The money raised was shared between the school and the charity.

This money enables the charity to continue its work in the community and to provide prizes for the penalty shoot-out winners.

These are a selection of the comments from children involved:

"I enjoyed it when I got three penalties." - Harry Mitchell, Year One.

"I liked the shoot out because I got to miss some lessons." - Steven Scott, Year Four.

"I liked it because it was fun and I enjoyed kicking the football." - Charlotte Cook, Year Three.

"The football was fun, and best of all I won a prize!" - Sophie Mitchell, Year Four.

"I just like taking shots, and the people from Sunderland Football In The Community were fun." - Jonathan Robson, Year Six.
