TEENAGER Russell Dixon is showing he has got what it takes in the competitive world of sport.
Russell, from Aiskew, has been presented with the David Dick Memorial Trophy for his outstanding services to football at Northallerton College.
He captained the college under-19 side, which reached the finals of two county competitions.
Those have not been played because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak.
He was invited for trials with three league clubs last year, and was in the last 32 for selection for the England schools' under-19 squad.
Team coach Alistair Macrae aid: "Russell has been a great captain, showing enthusiasm and leadership on and off the field."
The trophy is one of three awards at the College in memory of the former head of art who died in 1999 at the age of 45.
They reflect David Dick's twin passions of art and football.
