THREE Darlington schools have been left counting the cost of vandalism.
Rise Carr Primary School, North Road Junior and Infant School, and Haughton Comprehensive School, were all attacked during the half-term break last week.
Windows were smashed at all of the schools, and at Rise Carr school paint was daubed on the walls.
Police are unsure about exactly when the crimes took place, because they were only discovered when the schools re-opened after the holidays.
Detective Sergeant Alec Francis, of Darlington police, said: "This is wanton damage and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed it or has information about those responsible for the vandalism."
