A MODEL enthusiast's collection of ships in bottles has taken pride of place in a display at his local museum.
Allan Nesbitte has collected a range of miniature vessels over the past 18 years - and Thirsk Museum has now decided to show the models off to a wider public.
Curator Cooper Harding said: "Allan has bought bottles all over the place, at home and abroad.
"They are representative of a hobby of sailors in days gone by, who whiled away their days at sea making the models. This is another in our series of guest displays, which have proved very popular."
The exhibition runs until the end of July.
